ABC News on Kinky Sex

ABC News sure has an Interesting Definition of: “Kinky Sex”

It’s hard to take any major news outlet seriously these days.  Media is a rough business, and everyone is now cutting each others throats while simultaneous selling their souls just to stay afloat.  I get the fact that Newspapers and Networks need website hits in the worst way.  Hell, CNN.com sells T-shirts with headlines on them.  If that’s not an act of desperation, I’m not sure what is.

But what I saw on ABC news.com this morning takes it to an entirely new level of  WTF?-ness.  About three headlines from the bottom of their “Top Stories” roll, I see this:

“Kinky Sex is on the Rise… Therapists Say”

Okay, fine.  An obvious and blatant attempt to get hits and clicks.  I’ll oblige and be part of the problem.  Could be good material for my day job.  When I get to the main story page I see this:

Kinky Sex is on the Rise: Therapists Say

Sexual Fetishes, Sadomasochism, Bondage, Swinging, Even Bestiality: Is it the Internet?

Um…  There’s a horse…in the lower left  of that ABC News created graphic.

Let’s go clockwise starting in the upper left:  foot  Fetish, S&M, Latex Fetish, and…

Bestiality.

If you’re not picking up on where I’m going with this yet, here’s a clip from Sesame Street that should help out:

What you do in your bedroom on your time, with consenting HUMAN non directly related adults is really none of my business.  But when you take it from the bedroom to the barn… maybe it’s just me but that shouldn’t be defined as “kinky sex” anymore.

It’s difficult to take the major media outlets any less seriously…  but geeze ABC.  I mean… damn.  Horse Sex?

Remind me to never go to an ABCNews.com company Christmas party.  Somebody might show up with a sheep as a date.

A lot of horses have foot fetishes, I've heard. I think I saw it on 60 minutes.
