Gay Marriage and Iowa. Together at last.

iowasign1. A win for Gay Marriage in… Iowa? - Unanimous ruling by Iowa’s State Supreme Court says their same sex marriage ban is unconstitutional.  This happened in IOWA.  All right Dubuque!
(From the WSJ, and no offense intended by the sign by the way.  Love the good people of Iowa.)

2. North Korea STILL getting their rocket ready - This is becoming the Rogue State Weapons crisis equivalent of Guns N’ Roses and Chinese Democracy.  It’s taking forever, there’s going to be a big build up of publicity, and then poof… it’ll be one big flop all around.  (From the NY Times)

3. Hey NATO!  Remember us?
Let’s see some more help in Afghanistan please! -

Time to take the ol’ Obama Europe Popularity Machine out for a spin.  (From the Economist)

4. When a Mother gives up her child - The state of Nebraska’s “Safe Haven” law was intended to prevent teen mothers from leaving their newborns in dumpsters.  Instead, the state got a flood of older children.  Dropped off by desperate parents like Lavennia Coover, who gave up one of her sons to Nebraska in an attempt to save him, and also to save his brother who, unlike him… would go home that night.  It’s one of the saddest most powerful articles I’ve read in a long time.  If you had a relatively normal childhood, be thankful.  Because you,  like me, are lucky.  (From GQ)

5. Sumo Scandal - No, really… Japan’s Sumo Culture being rocked by scandals.
(From The very good, you should read it more often, Global Post)
