The Escalation of Pirate Tensions

1. Hostage Ship Captain tries to make a swim for it - But the Pirates got him back.  This thing has escalated big time.  The Pirates are sending reinforcements complete with human shields of other recently taken hostages.

2. 20/20 says having a gun on you wouldn’t necessarily get you out of a mass shooting - Yeah, well… I’d feel a lot better if I was armed during something like that.  But the training that goes into knowing how to react in a situation like that is no small thing.  And perhaps you’d do more harm than good?

5. Washington State Dem uses Bible verses to counteract Conservative Christian Emailer - Wash. Rep. Geoff Simpson got an email from a Conservative Christian who threw a slew of scripture at him to argue that homosexuality, in her opinion, is wrong.  Rep. Simpson picks up a Bible and finds a ton of scripture that seems to endorse Polygmy and Slavery… and sends her an email back.  Conservative Christians then accuse him of “mocking the Holy Scriptures.”  Wait, so he’s mocking the Holy Scriptures by… using those same Holy Scriptures?  They also say that now is not the time for social change in the midst of a budget crisis.  So let me get this straight… Washington State Conservative Christians believe that inequality and bigotry are quite acceptable… as long as the Government is having a hard time balancing the books?  (From OPB News)
