1. David Souter to retire. He’s a justice. A Supreme COURT JUSTICE - Yeah so, he’s a bit on the quiet side. Doesn’t really stand out in a crowd. The guy has never liked Washington, was appointed by the first President Bush, and has since become a reliable member of the Liberal side of the court (whoops for H.W.). He wants to head back home to New Hampshire. I say good for him. Not to sound like too much of a tool, but… I like my judges the way I like my Gin. Cold, sharp, and quiet. Here’s to a bottle that didn’t jump out at you from the bar back. (From the Washington Post)
2. By the way, Newspapers are still struggling - The Washington Post’s print advertising dropped 33%. If papers like the Washington Post start to feel the effects of the economy even more than they are now… we’re all screwed. Yes I’ve linked to that article before, and no I don’t care that I keep referencing it. It’s important, and no one seems to be getting that right now. (From the Wall Street Journal and New Republic)
3. Dutch Parade killer dies - The guy who drove his car into the crowd at a Royal Parade in the Netherlands has died. He wasn’t carrying any weapons or explosives, but before he expired he did admit to aiming for the royal family. (From the NY Times)
4. Brett Favre hires a personal trainer? - Oh for the love of all things holy dude. Just give it up already. (From Si.com)
5. Dennis Miller on: What Obama thinks about the Tea Party People - Miller thinks the President “fancies himself a cool kid… and cool kids don’t like squares.” Uh… if the kinds of people who were turning out at Tea Parties are the “squares,” then… I don’t think I know what a nerd is anymore. Pres. Obama IS the “square” (he tucks his shirt in when he plays basketball for God sakes). The Tea Party people are leaning heavily towards red-neck in many many ways. Not all of them, but a good chunk of em’. Miller then goes on to say that those who turned out for the Tea Parties are: “Regular people.” If those are the Regular people, then we’re in trouble. O’Reilly finishes up with his opinion that President Obama hasn’t been criticized in his adult life, and now that folks on Fox News are doing it… wait a minute, stop right there. Does Bill O’reilly actually think the President cares what Fox News has to say?

(Yes, I know that pic/caption plays into the elitist thing… and I don’t care. Article/video From Hot Air. Pic certainly is not.)
Souter? I barely know her!
