Gordon Brown on the Brink

1. Mutiny on the HMS United Kingdom - Gordon Brown, the Prime Minister of the U.K., is facing a revolt from the inside of his own party.  Secretaries in his cabinet are resigning and calling for him to step down because they feel the Labor party could soon suffer massive defeat under his leadership.  Brown has had to reshuffle his entire cabinet, and even appointed the British version of Donald Trump to a higher up position.  Yep, the guy even has his own version of the Apprentice in Britain.  All aboard.  (From the London Times and Washington Post)

The foundation of the American Economy is rotten - We don’t actually make anything anymore, the middle class is shrinking, and deficits are skyrocketing.  So yay for consumer confidence starting to rebound, but it’s nothing more than slapping a new coat of paint on a house with termites.  And all this comes to us courtesy of a man who didn’t have the sense to NOT boink prostitutes while holding public office.  Thanks Spitzer.  (From Slate.com)
