The lasting impact of Eunice Kennedy Shriver

1. Eunice Kennedy Shriver.  1921 – 2009 - She set an example that we should all follow.
(From Time Magazine)

2. President Obama’s Health Care Town Hall could get nasty - Tea Party types will get snotty and the President will probably hear cries of “Socialist!” later this morning.  Or not.  I’d love to see the President actually engage one of them, calmly, and get them to calm down.  Just so he can talk to them.  Calmly.  With calm.  Much calmness.  Average heart rates shouldn’t get over 55.  Calm please.

3. And by the way, have you heard of this 9/12 project? - It’s a Glenn Beck thing.  I’m apparently WAY late to the party on this one.  Their mission statement is to bring America “back to the place we were on September 12, 2001″  Oh good God.  He’s using the September 11th attacks as a marketing tool? And has been for MONTHS?  This is what I get for not having basic cable.  And why would we WANT to return to that state of mind?  Colbert makes some great points.
(From Glenn Beck and Stephen Colbert)

4. GM Says the Chevy Volt will get 230 MPG City - Well that’s quite a bit.  Obviously it’s because they’re assuming city folks wouldn’t travel more than 40 miles between charges that much.  And that’s how far the nifty volt can get before it starts sipping gas.  (From the NY Times)

5. The Google IG Fish Gadget - They’re fish, on your desktop.  Which you can feed.  Strangely mesmerizing and probably too distracting.  (From Google)
